The Institute of International Education has authorization to extend non-immigrant J-1 visa sponsorship to foreign Short-Term Scholars, Professors, Research Scholars, Trainees, Specialists and College and University Students to promote “mutual understanding between Americans and the citizens of other countries.” IIE’s Enrichment and Professional Development Division, under the Study America Program works with universities, colleges, research institutions, private businesses and NGOs to sponsor individuals, who teach, lecture, observe, consult and share their professional expertise with their American colleagues.
