The 2008/2009 academic year marked the final year of the Goldman Sachs Global Leaders Program
after a successful ten years. To date, 1,050 outstanding undergraduates from 100 participating universities
and colleges in 20 countries have been recognized for their academic excellence by being awarded the
title of Goldman Sachs Global Leader. Many have gone on to win Rhodes, Truman, Marshall, Gates and
Cambridge scholarships and Fulbright Fellowships. They have also made a positive impact on their local
communities through the program's Social Entrepreneurship Fund, and many are already making a mark in
their careers in fields ranging from teaching to government to business.
With this ten-year program coming to an end, The Goldman Sachs Foundation is transitioning its
focus to the 10,000 Women initiative, an exciting and dynamic global initiative that will provide
10,000 underserved women, predominantly in developing and emerging markets, with business and management
education. This initiative is taking place in partnership with over fifty universities, NGOs, and
advisory institutions worldwide. For more information, please visit

The Institute of International Education (IIE) and The Goldman Sachs Foundation are proud of all
that has been accomplished through the Goldman Sachs Global Leaders Program, the main result of
which has been to support the development of tomorrow's leaders.
