Strategic Communications Manager, International Fellowships Program
Purpose of Position: To assist IFF in implementing a comprehensive strategy and activities to
increase the visibility and impact of the Ford Foundation International Fellowships Program. Areas
of work will include communications and media outreach, and related research and documentation.
The IFP, which is funded by the Ford Foundation, currently has selected more than 3,325 Fellows
from Africa, Asia, Latin America and Russia who are studying or have studied at approximately 500
universities in 40 countries. The IFP Secretariat unit in New York coordinates program
implementation with 20 International Partners and the administrative unit for the program at IIE.
These organizations are funded through IFF institutional grants.
Internship The Institute of International Education is seeking interns in our New York office
for the Spring and Summer of 2009. Candidates must be students at an
accredited college or university, and must receive academic credit for their
internship.
Internships are generally 15 to 35 hours per week. Spring internships will be
starting in January 2009 and Summer internships in May or June of 2009. Please
note that all internships are unpaid.
IIE has opportunities in many of our departments, covering areas that range
from facilities management to assisting threatened scholars around the world to
working on processing international students’ entry into the United States.

Program Associate, NESS Annex
Purpose of Position: Assists Northeast Student Services (NESS) Annex staff in administering IIE’s Foreign Fulbright Student Program. Provides support to Student Services team by performing data entry, word processing, creating and updating spreadsheets, processing routine grant payments and file maintenance. Coordinates a variety of details relating to the division’s operations, services provided to students and other related activities, including, but not limited to, student receptions, orientations and other enrichment activities. Other administrative office duties as needed.
Program Manager, Outreach
To support and initiate outreach activities for the National Security Education Program
Boren Scholarships, Boren Fellowships, and The Language Flagship.
Senior Program Manager, Outreach
The Senior Program Manager works as part of a close team to provide outreach and
other initiatives related to the administration of KAUST Discovery Scholarships.
The Senior Program Manager will travel as needed throughout the U.S. and Canada
(and internationally in some cases) to conduct outreach for the scholarships with and
without university representatives and other IIE staff. The Senior Program Manager
will also attend events domestically and worldwide related to the scholarship recipient
workshops and events. The incumbent will work closely with the KAUST Scholarship
team and act as the sponsor liaison as directed.
Manager of IT and Finance & Administration Services
The Finance and Administration Unit seeks a Manager to coordinate and implement
information and communication technology services that support the administrative
infrastructure of CIES and its programs and services; to liaise with CIES program units
and IIE offices on information and communication technology matters and to assure
coordination and seamless functionality of technology systems in collaboration with the
Director of Finance and Administration; to provide leadership, coordination and
analysis of technology systems and applications that support the work of CIES; to
supervise and manage CIES IT staff, allocate work responsibilities and assignments and
establish a team approach to work within the IT unit and across CIES; to coordinate and
implement staff training on IT related issues; to monitor, provide compliance controls
and communicate policies and procedures; to assess opportunities for ongoing
improvements in IT systems and applications within CIES; to assess opportunities for
organizational improvements and efficiency increases on an ongoing basis; to review
and assess work processes and procedures, identify efficiency increases in CIES staff
units, recommend new and improved procedures that advance the work of CIES; to
implement identified procedural improvements in collaboration with CIES leadership
staff in the relevant staff units; to serve as a deputy to the Director of Finance and
Administration.
Program Officer
The Program Officer supports outreach activities for the KAUST Discovery and KAUST
Scholars Programs. Works under the daily supervision of the Director of Recruitment and
Outreach and the Senior Outreach Manager.
Program Coordinator, KAUST Scholarship Administration
To support the administration of outreach and scholarship administration activities to
ensure smooth flow of unit operations.
Program Coordinator
Coordination and monitoring of the ROTC Language and Culture Project. The project
provides support for over a dozen institutional grants including multiple special
projects designed to increase ROTC enrollment in critical languages as well as
participation in study abroad. The project also works to build critical language
infrastructure both nationally and at select institutions.
Program Manager

and to create and monitor individual development plans (IDPs) incorporating academic
and professional development skills prior to matriculation at KAUST. The incumbent

Program Coordinator
The Program Coordinator for advising supports the grantee management of the KAUST
Discovery and King Abdullah Scholars Programs work. The major responsibilities are
working with Senior Program Managers to track the execution of award
documentation, input data as needed, create reports and maintain student files on
academic skills development and professional development plans. Additional duties
will include administrative, logistical and correspondence on student development
activities.
Regional Educational Advising Coordinator
Through oversight and funding from the Department of State, Bureau of Educational
and Cultural Affairs (ECA) and under a cooperative agreement between ECA and the
Institute of International Education (IIE), the Regional Educational Advising
Coordinator (REAC) Program is designed to foster international student mobility
between the United States and the rest of the world through the EducationUSA
network. REACs, located regionally throughout the world, are responsible for working
with ECA and IIE to oversee and support this network of more than 450 advising
centers globally. REACs act as a resource on educational systems and exchanges;
provide assessment, direction, training and quality control of EducationUSA advising
centers; and develop and promote the EducationUSA network.
Program Coordinator (PECO)
To support the global tracking of outreach and recruitment activities for KAUST scholarships. To provide administrative and operational assistance for the KAUST Scholarship Programs. To complete all assignments at a level equivalent to or exceeding internal/external standards. To contribute to divisional tasks and activities as required.
Grants Officer
To assist the Director with the administration of grants to institutions of higher education under The Language Flagship and other special initiatives of NSEP. To manage grant award and execution process, particularly financial aspects. To monitor adherence with the terms and conditions of grants awarded by IIE under The Language Flagship and other special initiatives of NSEP.

Senior Financial Manager, San Francisco
The Executive Director (ED) of the IIE West Coast Center (IIEWCC), located in San
Francisco, has oversight, responsibility and is accountable for division-wide
administration, finances, budgets, contract compliance, new program development, and
other areas. The Senior Financial Manager is the ED’s primary support person for
IIEWCC administration and finance. The incumbent also represents the ED on IIE
