Dennis Kear

Dennis Kear, Deputy Vice President, Information Technology, heads the Application Systems Development division of the IT department and is second in command to the Chief Information Officer.

Mr. Kear oversees a team of technical managers and specialists in supporting IIE’s core applications, including SAP, IIE Enterprise, and IIE Reports. His team has charge of over 60 application servers and database servers hosted in New York, DC and Texas, including IIE’s Disaster Recovery servers. The team monitors, maintains and fine tunes the application hosting platform, implements all technical upgrades and change requests, and oversees all systems architecture and new software development. In addition, Mr. Kear leads a cross-departmental task force to prepare IIE for the advent of SEVIS II, a major new initiative from the Department of Homeland Security.

Before joining the Institute in 2002, Mr. Kear held Information Technology positions in the securities, insurance and health care cost containment industries. He was educated at Rice University.
