Diane J. Paton
East Hampton, New York

Diane J. Paton has had a lifelong interest in both education and politics. She served the Reagan and first Bush administration as the Executive Director of the President's Committee on the Arts and the Humanities, charged with exploring ways to increase private support for the arts and humanities. She was also the Executive Director of the New York Finance Committee for the President Ford Committee and the Chief Administrative Officer for the Presidential Task Force on the Arts and Humanities under President Reagan. She has taught underprivileged children in both Honolulu and in New York City, and served as a Program Associate in the Education Department at the New York Urban Coalition.

Mrs. Paton, a graduate of Bradford Junior College, has been on the Board of Trustees of the Institute of International Education since 1983, having served as Vice Chairman of the Board, a member of the Executive Committee, and Chairman of the Nominating Committee.
