What is IIEF?
The Indonesia International Education Foundation (IIEF) is a private, non-profit Indonesian foundation established in 1992 and devoted to promoting educational exchange. IIEF serves Indonesia in a variety of ways:
- Implements program for the Institute of International Education (IIE), the largest non-profit educational exchange organization in the United States of America.
- Provides administrative assistance to a variety of World Bank and USAID funded overseas training programs.
- Represents the East-West Center, Honolulu, Hawaii, a public, non-profit educational institution established by the US Congress to promote better understanding between the US and countries of Asia and the Pacific, the East-West Center conducts an annual Graduate Degree Student Awards Scholarship Competition and a variety of short-term, non-degree conferences, workshops, and meetings.
- Disseminates information on developments in Indonesia education to US educators through IlE's biennial seminars in the US and through IlE's network of Educational Associates.
- Organizes the annual U.S. University Fairs, to provide free opportunities for the Indonesian public to learn about educational opportunities in the US
- Produces Returning to Indonesia: The Career Guide for Indonesian Graduates of American Universities in cooperation with IIE and the American Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia (AmCham).
- Assists the Indonesian Capital Markets Licensing Committee to administer its licensing examinations.
- Administers all the Educational Testing Service exams including TOEFL, TOEIC, GRE, GMAT, SAT, and ITP. (For further information, please email ief@indo.net.id)
The TOEFL, GRE, GMAT, and SAT support the applications of Indonesian students to universities abroad.
The TOEIC provides an internationally recognized standard test of English for professional purposes.
The institutional TOEFL Program allows educational institutions preparing candidates to study abroad to gauge their students' progress by providing them with practice tests
- Assists American artists on IIE Arts International grants working in Indonesia.
- Organizes study tours of Indonesia for visiting US educators.
