Daniel Obst provides strategic leadership and oversight for the activities of IIE’s network of 1,200 member institutions, IIE’s publications and higher education services, IIE’s Center for International Partnerships in Higher Education, and IIE’s strategic communications.
He is the editor of IIENetworker, IIE’s international education magazine, and executive editor of IIE’s Global Education Research Reports series. Mr. Obst recently co-edited several books, including Developing Strategic International Partnerships, Joint and Double Degree Programs: An Emerging Model for Transatlantic Exchange, and Innovation Through Education: Building the Knowledge Economy in the Middle East.
In 2013, Mr. Obst was appointed to serve on the U.S. National Commission to UNESCO.
Mr. Obst received his B.A. in International Relations from the George Washington University and holds a Master's degree in European Studies from the London School of Economics.
