IIE Hong Kong organizes the American and Canadian Boarding Schools Fair with the cooperation of The Association of Boarding Schools (TABS). The fair gives students and parents the opportunity to learn about education opportunities directly from school representatives.

A growing number of students and parents from Hong Kong, Macau and China are eager to take advantage of the wide variety of excellent academic programs available offered by private high and boarding schools in the United States and Canada. IIE’s American and Canadian Boarding School Fair provides you with an efficient, cost-effective way to reach them.

The fair, organized jointly with The Association of Boarding Schools (TABS), allows boarding school representatives to meet with hundreds of prospective students and parents interested in secondary education in North America. It also gives students and parents the opportunity to learn about educational opportunities directly from the official, and reliable sources. A series of seminars, including a general information session and student visa briefing delivered by the U.S. Consulate-General, is also organized for prospective students and parents, student admission is free and it is open to the public.

Participation Guidelines

Participation is open to all private high and boarding schools in the United States and Canada accredited by any of the recognized U.S. regional accrediting associations or their Canadian counterparts. Schools adopting the American or Canadian school systems are also welcome. Schools must be represented by school admissions representatives, or staff appointed by the schools. As IIE promotes direct school-to-student communication, no third-party recruiters may participate. Parents and alumni are welcome to represent a school alongside a school representative.

Publicity

IIE is developing a comprehensive publicity campaign to promote the 2012 Fair. The strategic placement of press release and advertisements in local newspapers will be supplemented by the distribution of posters to local and international secondary schools. The fair will also be publicized online through IIE’s website and mailing list.

Country Briefing

Briefing to provide school representatives with comprehensive information on the local education system in Hong Kong and trends in the flow of students to the North America.

Schools Profiles

A fair guide with participating school profiles will be distributed for free to all students attending the fair and throughout the year at IIE/HK center. Only institutions that register and return their school profiles by September 28, 2012 will be included in the guide.

Advertising Opportunity

Advertising in the take-home Fair Guide is open to all regionally accredited private high schools and boarding schools in the United States and Canada, whether or not they are participating in the fair. For schools that do attend, advertising in the Fair Guide reinforces your presence at the fair and maintains your visibility throughout the year. Those who do not participate in the fair can use advertising to inform students and parents about educational opportunities available on your campus.

Registration, Payment and Cancellation Policy

How to Register

Please complete the Registration Form and return to info_hongkong@iie.org by September 23, 2013. If you are member of TABS, please contact TABS office directly for registration.

Payment Methods

IIE will send the invoice to you by means you chose at registration (fax or e-mail). This invoice will indicate the total fee for your participation. Payment can be made by check, credit card, bank draft or wire transfer. All fees must be paid in full by October 4, 2013

IMPORTANT: If paying by wire transfer, please ensure that you allow for bank charges and other related fees, so that the total due amount is received by IIE. Charges vary from bank to bank; please check with your bank regarding wire transfer charges if you require more information.


Cancellation Policy

You should email to info_hongkong@iie.org if you wish to cancel your registration. IIE/Hong Kong will arrange refund according to the following cancellation policy:

Cancelled on or before August 31, 2013 Refund of 70% registration fee
Cancelled during: September 01 - 20, 2013 Refund of 50% registration fee
Cancelled on or after September 21, 2012 No refund
NOTE: All dates are based on China Time GMT+8

If payment has not been made at the time of cancellation, IIE will bill institutions based on this refund policy. IIE will strictly enforce this cancellation policy with all cancellation requests, with no exceptions. Once you submit your online-registration the cancellation policy applies. IIE considers all registrations as complete and final and does not accept “provisional” or “unconfirmed” registration. It is your responsibility to have your travel plan confirmed before completing the online-registration.

Shipment of Materials

Please arrange delivery of your school materials to Conrad Hong Kong by November 2, 2013.

Shipping Label

You should make sure you have labelled your package with the IIE Fair Shipping Label before delivery.

Important

IIE cannot take responsibility for materials lost in transit, so to ensure safe arrival of your materials, we recommend using FedEx, DHL, UPS or a similar courier service.

Hotels

Hong Kong has an abundance of hotels, but most are considered expensive by U.S. standards. Often, travel agents in the U.S. have better access to discount rates than can be obtained locally, especially during the fall which is the peak travel season in Hong Kong.

Students who have pre-registered online, simply bring the printed confirmation sheet to the fair, you will enter through the priority line. All others have to queue up and register at the entrance reception counter on the day of the fair.

IIE has organized Boarding Schools Fair in Hong Kong for nearly a decade. Recent fairs have been held with the cooperation of The Association of Boarding Schools (TABS).

With more than 20 years’ experience in organizing U.S. education fairs in Asia, IIE is pleased to offer school representatives a professional and cost-effective event where they can meet prospective students serious about pursuing secondary education in North America.
