How to Apply

Application Information

There is one online application that is used to apply for all three 2016 programs: New Zealand, Mexico, Cuba. Applicants may choose to apply to more than one program using the general application. Be aware that each program has its own application deadline. Please refer to the information below for application submission instructions and to learn the application deadlines for each program.

Please use the following steps to submit an application:

  1. Access the general online application
  2. Select the program(s) to which you want to apply
  3. Complete and submit the application by the program application deadline

All applications must be received by the following dates to be eligible for consideration:

The early decision deadline for Mexico and Cuba programs is May 13, 2016. Applications received by this deadline will be the first reviewed and applicants will be given an early acceptance decision.

Final Deadlines:

New Zealand: May 16, 2016

Mexico: June 10, 2016

Cuba: June 10, 2016

The following criteria is used by IIE to assess all eligible IAPP applications:

  1. Demonstrates commitment to internationalization and fostering academic partnerships
  2. Has a clear motivation for wanting to develop academic partnerships with the focus country
  3. Shows desire and ability to dedicate time and effort necessary for program participation
  4. Displays understanding of strategic academic partnerships and is able to articulate reasons for wanting to join the program
  5. Has previous engagement with the focus country or general experience creating/maintaining partnerships with foreign institutions
