U.S. Students in Overseas Degree Programs: Key Destinations and Fields of Study, a new report made possible through the collaboration of 13 Project Atlas partners including the Institute of International Education (IIE), presents findings from the first-ever survey on U.S. students pursuing full degrees abroad at the postsecondary level, their specific level of study, and their chosen field of study. The information on U.S. degree students pursuing degrees abroad complements data reported in Open Doors Report on International Educational Exchange on U.S. students who receive academic credit for study abroad from institutions in the U.S., and helps to complete the picture of outbound postsecondary mobility in the United States.

While most of the traditional host countries are seeing the numbers of international students continue to rise, newly emerging hosts in the developing world have entered the compoetitive higher education market and are re-mapping the unidirectional flow of global talent. This book is a compilation of reports on student mobility trends and internationalization policies in six world regions. It includes the latest data on inbound and outbound students in 17 countries and highlights national and institutional strategies for internationalizing higher education.
