Definitions

Inbound/International Student:

  • International full-degree student: A student who has moved to Denmark for the purpose of studying.
  • International exchange student: A student who participates in an exchange visit of at least three months at a higher education institution in Denmark.

Foreign Student: Students holding a foreign citizenship, but have resided in Denmark for more than a year prior to the beginning of his/her studies. These students are not considered international students.

Outbound Student:

  • Full-degree outbound student: A student who receives the Danish study abroad grant ("Udlandsstipendieordningen").
  • Exchange outbound student: A student who participates in an exchange visit of at least three months at a higher education institution abroad.

Data reported to Project Atlas includes mobility at the ISCED levels 5A and 5B.
