International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) - Houston, Southern Region

United States Embassies abroad nominate emerging leaders in that country to participate in the US State Department’s International Visitor Leadership program. IVLP participants meet their US counterparts in business and other fields for professional exchange, and have the opportunity to visit with Americans in informal settings to gain a better understanding of US culture. Volunteers interested in IVLP may be asked to provide home dinner hospitality, or to provide transportation for the visitor. The international visitors take with them an expanded knowledge of how to enrich and develop their businesses, and the volunteers gain an expanded view of the cultures of the world. IVLP also offers an opportunity for retired executives and others to assist staff as volunteer program organizers, who spend a few hours a week making business contacts and designing individual programs.
