About Participants

  • I finished my PhD thesis in Sweden and came recently to US for a postdoc training in a lab leading my research field. I have set up connection with Study America since a few months ago and find it very helpful for guest researcher like me, both before and after entering US. They prepared the document for me to apply the visa, helped me settle down in this country and start work here. Staring at a new place is hard, especially in another country. Study America has made it because a joyful experience for me. Many thanks!!! Hui Gao, Sweden - Research Scholar, Genetics

  • I am very thankful to IIE for taking care of my visa process and allowing me to attend the internship program in Washington, DC. By IIE sponsorship,I quickly got my visa and now improving my skills within my research based and very rewarding internship program. Hale Arifagaoglu, Turkey - Short term Scholar, International Relations

  • The program was a great success as well from an intercultural aspect as from a professional aspect. I was able to share much of my unique technical knowledge with the company and I’m confident that I provided a deeper understanding of the European culture not only form a business prospective. In return I’ve got a deeper sympathy for the US and its people and culture. I am very grateful that I had the chance to participate in the IIE program and hope that this program will encourage co-operation between Germany and the US in the same great way for other people as it did for me in the future. Germany- Specialist, Information Technology

  • "When my program in the US was decided, I had applied for the J-1 Visa well in advance. The procedure for the application went smoothly thanks to the swift response from the IIE. The materials received from the IIE together with the DS-2019 was very useful. After the arrival at the US, I established contact with the IIE through e-mail. The response from the IIE was quick. The program at the US has been extremely useful for my career of public servant. During my stay, I could deepen my understanding on the US nonproliferation policy issues by attending a number of informal meetings and hearing the views of the american experts first hand. I was really impressed by the open-minded policy discussions which were organized by the think tank on a day to day basis here. Finally, I would like to express sincere appreciation to the IIE for supporting me through the Study America Program. I could know America better and I like America more than before." Taijiro Kimura, Japan - Research Scholar, Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution
