The overall goal of the program is to provide much-needed support to outstanding students pursuing courses in Engineering/Science/Management from leading educational institutions in the fourteen participating countries. The initiative will thus provide opportunities for students to study and to contribute to society after graduation. Specific objectives include:
· Providing greater opportunities for young talented students to improve their careers in the fields of Engineering and Management;
· Helping students with financial need to complete their studies and become leaders in their country’s workforce;
· Promoting responsible leadership and a commitment to community service among tomorrow’s work force;
· Preventing brain drain by encouraging students to continue their studies in their home country; and
· Demonstrating the GE Foundation’s commitment to helping develop the workforce and communities of countries in which it works.
