Participant Training

IIE is committed to enhancing knowledge, promoting a skilled workforce and opening minds to the world through undergraduate and graduate degree programs, skills and workforce training, study tours and programs.  The Institute partners with governments, foundations, universities and corporations and leverages its international networks to develop professional development programs that improve the lives of individuals, strengthen communities and promote economic and social development.

IIE Has Expertise to Manage Participant Training Programs in the Following Key Areas:

  • Outreach and Recruitment.  Our robust networks advertise and promote participant training and scholarship opportunities through universities, ministries of education, embassies and NGOs.
  • Participant Selection.  Fair and open selection procedures occur in multi-stage processes involving expert panels.
  • Placement Services.  Unparalleled expertise placing participants in educational institutions and workforce development and training programs in the U.S. and around the world ensures fast track and tailored-timing placements in degree and non-degree programs.
  • Pre-Departure Preparation.  Experience in providing all pre-departure requirements to prepare participants for their programs:  Security Risk and Fraud Inquiry, immigration documentation, visa issuance, support with ITIN issuance, medical clearance and insurance enrollment, as well as compliance with the Fly America Act and TraiNet for USAID participants.
  • Pre-Academic and Orientation Programs.  Expertise designing programs to prepare participants for academic or technical training and to facilitate their cultural and practical adjustments. The Institute also offers English language instruction, testing and enrichment services.
  • Participant Monitoring and Support.  A robust and personalized support and monitoring program for training participants.  IIE assigns each participant an adviser who serves as the participant’s mentor throughout the training program and is responsible for monitoring academic and personal progress.

  • Logistical Coordination and Support.  On the ground logistical support and coordination in all world regions facilitates smooth program implementation.
  • Financial Management.  The systems and experience to manage all financial payments and monitoring of participant tuition and fees, living stipends and other costs related to training activities, using an Electronic Funds Transfer system and an established GRANTAX unit, which facilitates tax reporting and meets or surpasses the statutory requirements to withhold and remit taxes to the IRS.
  • Re-Entry and Alumni Activities.  Expertise managing effective re-entry activities that support long-term sustainability and builds on the participants’ training experiences.
