USAID Awards the Institute of International Education FORECAST II Contract

IIE to provide “Participant Training” services and related capacity development interventions

NEW YORK, February 2012—The Institute of International Education (IIE) won a prestigious contract from USAID which will allow the Institute to collaborate with USAID missions around the world to implement international development projects. Focus on Results: Enhancing Capacity Across Sectors in Transition or FORECAST II consists of five-year contracts, managed by USAID’s Bureau of Economic Growth, Agriculture and Trade (EGAT) that offer bureaus and missions worldwide a fully integrated, flexible package of cross-cutting services for Participant Training and related capacity development interventions.

Under FORECAST II, IIE will support USAID’s strategic objective in all technical areas by offering a comprehensive range of services, including human and institutional capacity development, training needs assessments, development of performance monitoring plans, and short-and long-term training and exchange visitor programs. IIE is implementing FORECAST II with our partners: Creative Associates, Associates for Global Change, dTS, Inc., Education Development Center, International Youth Foundation, and KNO Worldwide.

FORECAST II offers an expanded array of Participant Training (PT) and exchange visitor services including: training needs assessments, consultation and development of strategic training plans, training design, participant/exchange visitor selection, procurement services for training and logistics providers, arranging placements in short-term and long-term programs in-country, in the U.S. and in third countries, processing services (language certification, medical certification, health & accident insurance enrollment, security screening, pre-training preparation and pre-departure orientation, program monitoring, tracking and data reporting), evaluation and follow-up, and technical assistance.

The FORECAST II IDIQ has a ceiling of $242 million, with a period of performance from February 2012 – February 1, 2017. Missions, bureaus and independent offices can access services of the contractors through task orders.
