    A Jewish woman in early 20th century Germany, Emmy Noether worked without pay or title for much of her life.

  • John K. Kelly, Fulbright Fellow

    Fulbright Fellow John K. Kelly

    John Kelly dealt with criminal justice on an international level and was the first police officer to be awarded a Fulbright scholarship.

    Martha Jackson-Jarvis

    Martha Jackson-Jarvis conducted a multigenerational quilting project after returning from her residency in Italy.

    Monica Gruezmacher is an Alcoa Foundation Fellow who did groundbreaking work in Colombia's Amazon region.

    Sakuda ole Nkitoria, a member of Kenya's Maasai community, was able to complete his education with IFP's help.

    Baker Hughes Scholar

    Joel, a Baker Hughes Scholar, was recognized as one of the top students in the economics department at Agostinho Neto University in Angola.

  • Joshua Magawa - IVLP

    Joshua Magawa

    IVLP participant Joshua Magawa Wamboga, a community leader from Uganda, lost two sisters to HIV/AIDS and knows well the importance of health education and prevention.

  • Boren Fellow Meghan Luckett

    Meghan Luckett

    While studying Hindi on a Boren Fellowship in India, Meghan Luckett planted an avocado tree at the Prakriti Biotech Farm in Hazaribag, India.

  • Randall Platt -Whitaker Program

    Randall Platt

    Through the Whitaker International Fellows and Scholars Program, Randall completed biomedical research and obtained a Masters of Philosophy from Imperial College London in the United Kingdom.

  • Rayane Hazimeh - TechWomen

    Rayane Hazimeh

    “I always believed in myself and my ability to influence others, but before embarking on the TechWomen experience, I never really used this talent and put it at the service of a greater goal.” Rayane Hazimeh, 2011 TechWomen Program (Lebanon)

  •  Rebecca Jacobs - IAF Fellow

    Rebecca Jacobs

    University of Connecticut PhD Candidate Rebecca Jacobs completed her dissertation research on volunteer tourism and development as part of her IAF Grassroots Development Fellowship.

  • Dr. Robert Lieberman - Fulbright Scholar Program

    Dr. Robert Lieberman

    Novelist, filmmaker and physics lecturer at Cornell University, Dr. Robert Lieberman, traveled to Yangon, Myanmar for a year to teach film and create public-service ads through the Fulbright Specialist Program.

  • Sarah Asad - LDM

    Sarah Asad

    LDM Fellow Sarah Asad is the Executive Director of Pahchaan (Protection and Help of Children Against Abuse and Neglect). In just its first four years, Pahchaan has improved the lives of over 3,000 Pakistani children.

  • Teddy Lesmana - PRESTASI

    Teddy Lesmana

    With the help of a USAID funded PRESTASI scholarship, Teddy completed his Master's degree in Biodiversity at the University of Maryland in 2011.
