Scholarships for Outstanding Undergraduate Students in Angola

Application Timeline: The second application cycle will be open from October 1st 2008 to January 31st 2009.

Funded by the Baker Hughes Foundation and administered by the Institute of International Education (IIE), the Baker Hughes Scholars Program in Angola provides select students in engineering, (geo)sciences, petrochemical, and business related fields with an annual $5,000 scholarship towards the completion of their undergraduate degree.

Applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Candidates must be currently enrolled in their second year of an undergraduate program in engineering, (geo)sciences, petrochemical, or business related field at a university in Angola,
  • Demonstrate academic excellence,
  • Exhibit strong leadership skills & interest to contribute to the country of Angola, and
  • Be a citizen of Angola.

This unique scholarship opportunity offers the following benefits:

  • $5,000 USD to be applied towards university tuition, books, fees, and living costs.
  • Participation in an award ceremony to be honored for achievements and for receipt of the scholarship.

Applications are judged on merit in an open and independent review conducted by a panel comprised of international education experts and faculty.
