American Literature and Civilization

Grant Activity: Teach advanced undergraduate and graduate courses in American literature and civilization at the University of Cocody-Abidjan and the University of Bouake. The two schools currently share the same campus in Abidjan. Assist with student advising, provide tutorials and supervise master's and doctoral level theses. Participate in seminars related to American literature and civilization. Conduct research in area of specialization.
Specialization(s): Areas of interest include: poetry, novel, drama, comparative literature, literary theory and African American women writers.
Language: English is sufficient for lecturing; conversational French is helpful.
Location: American Studies Section of the English Department, University of Cocody-Abidjan
Length of Grant: 10 months
