The Asia Pacific Leadership Program (APLP) is six- and nine-month certificate program designed to help students and professionals focusing on the Asia-Pacific region to develop as leaders in their chosen field.

The U.S. Congress established the East-West Center (EWC) in 1960 to foster mutual understanding and cooperation among the governments and peoples of the Asia-Pacific region, including the United States. The Center is a public, non-profit institution with an international board of governors. Principal funding comes from the U.S. government, with additional support provided by private agencies, individuals and corporations and more than 20 Asian and Pacific governments.

The GE Foundation, the philanthropic organization of the General Electric Company, works to strengthen educational access, equity, and quality for disadvantaged youth globally; and supports GE employee and retiree giving and involvement in GE communities around the world. In 2005, the GE family provided more than $150 million in cash, products and service to support local and global services organizations in communities around the world, including $71 million from the GE Foundation.
