Avery Dennison Foundation InvEnt Scholarship | China

China Competition

The Avery Dennison Foundation InvEnt (Invention + Entrepreneurship) Scholarship Program is designed to recognize and reward invention, innovation and excellence in high-achieving students studying in the fields of science, engineering and technology at selected higher education institutions in China. The Program was developed to encourage students to continue in these fields after graduation by helping them meet their financial needs during the period of their university attendance. The scholarship is primarily merit-based. Selected students will receive a $1,300 USD scholarship to be used in their second year of study, with possible renewal for two additional years.

These scholarship awards are part of a unique and prestigious program offered by the Avery Dennison Foundation to inspire the spirit of invention among university students. In addition to receiving scholarships, awardees will be honored at an awards ceremony in June 2011. Immediately following the awards ceremony, scholarship recipients will attend a special one-and-a-half day workshop on invention. The InvEnt Program also includes a series of engaging on-campus Discover Innovation Workshops for awardees and other interested members of the academic community at participating universities.

The InvEnt Scholarship Program is administered by the Institute of International Education (IIE) on behalf of the Avery Dennison Foundation and the Avery Dennison company.

Participating Universities:

  • Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication
  • East China University of Science and Technology
  • South China University of Technology
