The inaugural BYLP program took place from July 31, 2009- July 31, 2011. The program consisted of the following three components:
Summer Entrepreneurship Program-SEP (July 1- August 5, 2010): SEP provided 30 talented undergraduate Bulgarian students with a unique business and leadership training program in the United States.

Junior Environmental Professionals Training Program-JEPTP (September 12-October 2, 2010): JEPTP provided 20 young environmental professionals from governmental agencies and NGOs with a tailored professional development training program focused on U.S. environmental public-private ventures and the best practices in environmental protection and resource management.

U.S. Academic Immersion Program- USAIP (August 17, 2010- May 23, 2011): USAIP provided 20 young talented undergraduate Bulgarian students with the unique opportunity to spend a full academic year studying at select U.S. universities (such as Elizabethtown College, Juniata College, American University and University of Missouri) and experiencing U.S. culture and campus life.
