2009 Dragon Global Citizenship Programme delegates at the Khao Hin Sorn Royal Development Study Center in Thailand
Sponsored by the Hong Kong-based Dragon Foundation, delegations of 30 undergraduate students from recognized higher education institutions in Hong Kong are selected to participate in the Global Citizenship Programme, which offers students a week-long series of conferences, lectures and other activities related to the theme of “global citizenship”. Established in 2004, the programme has been held in New York, Geneva and Bangkok.
Full-time undergraduate students from any recognized university in Hong Kong are eligible for nomination by their universities. There is no restriction on field or year of study.
The Dragon Foundation was inaugurated in February 2000 with wide community support as a joint initiative of the Home Affairs Bureau and Home Affairs Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government and The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups (HKFYG).
