Global Reach and Experience
The Institute has an established track-record since 1919 of partnering with universities, governments, and corporations to develop and implement scholarship programs that attract talented students around the world. With over 33 offices and representatives world wide, our dedicated staff of over 600 professionals has experience working with people from all backgrounds and cultures.
Sponsor Focus
Our approach to the design and management of scholarship programs is based on a respect for, and understanding of, our sponsors’ objectives and intentions for the program. We work closely with our sponsors to integrate program policies, design reporting tools, and monitor program achievements and results.
Involvement of Key Stakeholders
IIE regularly includes local stakeholders in important scholarship activities, including outreach sessions, alumni events, and awards ceremonies. To sustain projects' activities over the long-term, IIE also works to train local personnel to assume certain project responsibilities, often in cooperation with a local government office or NGO.
Extensive College and University Networks
IIE works with hundreds of U.S. and international educational institutions to design and administer academic and training programs on behalf of government and private sponsors. In addition, IIE manages the IIENetwork, an association of over 1,000 universities, two and four-year colleges, national and international exchange agencies and educational not-for-profit organizations around the world.
Technological Innovation
In an effort to constantly improve the quality of our education and training programs, we have developed highly refined financial and information systems that provide customized approaches for a range of sponsors, including government, corporate, and foundation partners. IIE’s clients significantly benefit from web-based systems (including password protected sites) for transmitting information to sponsors and students and complying with new U.S. immigration policies.
Commitment to Global Leadership
Since its founding in 1919, IIE has focused on developing the skills and abilities of individuals through international exchange to prepare them for future leadership roles. Through its programs, IIE gives students the opportunity to explore and become engaged and active in an international environment, while bolstering their critical thinking, academic, and problem solving skills.
