GE Foundation Scholar-Leaders Program
The Scholar-Leaders Program supports outstanding students who are financially disadvantaged or are underrepresented in higher education geographically, ethnically or by gender in academic institutions in 14 countries around the world. The program creates opportunities for students to realize their potential through practical training and leadership development.

Baker Hughes Scholars Program in Angola
More than 80 undergraduate students from Angola have received scholarships from the Baker Hughes Foundation to study science, business and engineering at Angolan universities. The program helps prepare future leaders to improve conditions in their country and provides them with internship opportunities at Baker Hughes in Angola, in line with the Foundation’s belief that education plays a critical role in the country’s future.

Alcoa Foundation Technical Education Support Program in Russia
With support from the Alcoa Foundation, IIE administers fellowships for students and faculty at Russian universities for research and teaching in the fields of engineering, automation and material sciences. As part of the program, each host university receives grants to purchase classroom and laboratory equipment.

The SMBC Global Foundation Asian Scholarship Program
The SMBC Global Foundation Asian Scholarship Program is an annual scholarship grant program which is carried out by the SMBC Global Foundation, Inc. in agreement with 22 universities in Asia. The Program’s aims are to give aid to thousands of students at high-ranking universities in China, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Hong Kong and to promote close relationships between the Foundation and communities throughout these countries.

ExxonMobil Scholars Programs
Working with 14 countries in the Middle East and North Africa, Indonesia and Russia, ExxonMobil partners with IIE to find and develop the brightest minds in engineering, geosciences, business and related fields. IIE identifies men and women who are technically outstanding and culturally adept, multilingual and globally minded. The goal is to prepare the next generation of global leaders who will shape their home communities and nations.

Advancing Education for Children of Employees
For over than 35 years, IIE has partnered with companies and their foundations to manage scholarships for children of employees to study in higher education institutions worldwide. These scholarships allow international companies to attract and retain talented international staff, while developing human capital in the U.S. and overseas by expanding young people's access to higher education. The scholarships are an important tool for global companies to demonstrate their commitment to education and invest in the families of their employees.
In 2010, partners included:
- AIG Foundation with 500 grantees worldwide
- The Chevron International REACH Scholarship Program with nearly 350 individuals in 23 countries
- GE Foundation with 274 scholarship recipients in 32 countries
- Mattel Global Scholarship Program with nearly 300 grantees in 14 countries since 2009
