For over 30 years IIE has organized higher education fairs, providing value for:

U.S. Colleges and Universities:

  • A well-managed event at a reasonable cost at which representatives can meet serious prospective students interested in U.S. higher education
  • A comprehensive in-country orientation to inform participants about current factors influencing the flow of students to the United States
  • A trusted platform on which to build institution’s name in Asia

Students and Parents:

  • A great chance to learn about opportunities of higher education in the United States from official, reliable, and legitimate sources of information at no cost
  • An opportunity to meet face-to-face with official representatives of regionally accredited U.S. colleges and universities
  • Opportunities to learn about scholarships available to study in the U.S.

For U.S. colleges and universities, attending these fairs is more relevant than ever. As the Open Doors Report highlights, in 2011-2012:

  • Record high 764,495 international students studied in the U.S. in 2011/12, including 228,467 students enrolling for the first time.
  • Top places of origin for international students are: China #1, India #2, Taiwan #6, Vietnam #8, Mexico #9, Brazil #14, Hong Kong #16, Thailand #17 and Indonesia #18.
  • 63.6% of international students fund their studies in the U.S. through personal and family funds; 21.5% seek funding from the U.S. University attended.
