Laya Khadjavi

Laya Khadjavi is a Senior Advisor at ICE Canyon LLC. ICE Canyon is a leading investment management firm specializing in Emerging Markets and Global Credit investment strategies. Previously, she was Managing Director and Head of the Markets Group of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. During her 23-year career at Morgan Stanley, Ms. Khadjavi held a succession of leadership and senior management positions in the Firm’s Institutional Securities Group before joining the Wealth Management division in 2008. Ms. Khadjavi began her professional career at Salomon Brothers in 1984.

Ms. Khadjavi is a co-founder and staunch supporter of the Iran Opportunities Fund under the auspices of the Institute of International Education. She is a Trustee of PAIAA, The Public Affairs Alliance of Iranian-Americans. Ms. Khadjavi also served as a Member of the Board of Directors of Wildcat Service Corporation and as a Member of the Board of Trustees of Resurrection Episcopal Day School in Manhattan for a number of years. In 2008, Ms. Khadjavi received The Ellis Island Medal of Honor Award.

Ms. Khadjavi holds a B.S. in Applied Mathematics-Economics and a B.A. in French Literature from Brown University, and a M.B.A. from Columbia Business School. Ms. Khadjavi, her husband Hamid Biglari and their two children Roxana and Mandana live in New York City.
