International Teacher Program |
| Through IIE's International Teacher Program, J-1 exchange visitor sponsorship is provided in the "teacher" category. This visa sponsorship allows teachers to teach in U.S. primary and secondary schools on a temporary basis.
Participants are employed full-time directly by the host school or school district for a maximum of three (3) years, but do not permanently replace any U.S. teachers.
Teachers selected to participate in this program are required to hold teaching credentials from their own countries, to have at least three years' teaching experience prior to participating in this exchange program, to be of good character and to have secured a bone fide teaching opportunity.
This teacher exchange provides international teachers with experience teaching in a U.S. educational environment while enriching U.S. schools with high quality international teachers and children with a world view.
