To extend and enhance
their training experience, The Energy Group strongly encourages alumni to
consider themselves as part of a global network of energy and
environmental professionals, and to take an active part in the Alumni
Associations and Alumni Network.
Graduates of Energy
Group courses and workshops include more than 8,000 individuals. These
alumni are united and supported by a formal Alumni Network, the Alumni
Directory, the Energy Group Listserv and Energy Group Website that
provides information on individual alumni accomplishments, Energy Group
developments and upcoming training opportunities.
Alumni Associations
have been established in many countries, including Ghana, India,
Indonesia, Mexico, Nigeria, Philippines, and Uganda, and others are in
the process of being formed in Botswana, Burundi, Costa Rica, Ecuador,
India, Jordan, Kenya, Pakistan, and Uruguay.
Alumni Associations
facilitate and encourage interaction among alumni, enable alumni to
exchange energy and environment related information, and improve alumni's
ability to become agents of change for sustainable development worldwide.
Click here if you have graduated from
one of our courses and are interested in forming an alumni association in
your country. ETP will provide guidelines on how to set up an
association, a list of alumni in your country or region, and other
assistance.
Alumni
associations share the following statement of mission:
"To encourage a lifelong
relationship and commitment to communication and interaction between ETP
alumni and USAID, and to unite alumni, enabling them to become elements
of change for sustainable energy development."

The EETP Alumni Connection
Graduates of Energy
& Environment Training Program (EETP) courses and workshops include
over 9000 individuals from 94 countries. To expand and enhance their
training experience, EETP alumni are automatically included in part of a
global network of energy and environmental professionals and are strongly
encouraged to remain an active part of the EETP/USAID network.
To further strengthen
EETP participants' knowledge and skills, alumni of EETP courses are
encouraged to join local EETP Alumni Associations (EETPAA -where
available), USAID country-wide alumni associations, or national
energy/environmental societies. All local EETPAA share, and are strongly
guided by the mission statement:
"To encourage a lifelong relationship and
commitment to communication and interaction between EETP alumni and
USAID, and to unite alumni, enabling them to become agents of change for
sustainable energy development"
EETP Alumni
Associations have been established in Ukraine (1999), India (1997),
Indonesia (1994), Uganda (1994), Ghana (1991) , the Philippines (1992)
and Mexico.
Benefits from
participating in an EETP Alumni Association are many. As active members,
alumni have the opportunity to network with fellow in-country
professionals; communicate and interact with EETP, course providers,
representatives of U.S. industry, and other professionals in the field;
and can stay involved with USAID staff and projects, having access to
technical assistance for energy/environmental projects. In addition,
regular meetings with EETP friends and colleagues can be a rewarding
vehicle for achieving personal and professional satisfaction.
If you are interested
in forming an alumni association in your country, contact Marti Soroka in
Washington D.C. and she will provide guidelines on how to set up an
association, a list of alumni in your country or region, and any other
assistance you may require.
