The Energy Group provides training in a wide variety of
subjects. Training can be developed for any of the titles
listed below in the form of in-country workshops and seminars
or U.S. based courses, internships and study tours. Training
targeted for high-level executives, senior management and
policy makers generally take place in country in the form
of seminars and short-term workshops. Forums and workshops
are designed to increase understanding and build support
for energy and environmental issues among key decision-makers,
offering collaborative forums for the varied perspectives
of all sectors involved in decision-making. At the next
level, the Energy Group offers U.S.-based courses which
provide in-depth technical practical training. The Energy
Group offers follow-up in-country technical assistance and
U.S.-based or international study tours to expose participants
to industry expertise. Study tours and internships can be
developed to complement the program or as a single, independent
training event.
This multi-level approach to training is designed to build
a network of support to promote the implementation of energy
and environmental projects in participating countries. In
addition, all alumni are encouraged to participate in the
Alumni Network in order to remain in contact with other
professionals worldwide in their particular field.
The training is highly participatory, requiring significant
involvement by all who attend. Drawing on the participants'
experience, as well as on case studies, it critically examines
project successes and failures through structured discussions.
Training may be custom-designed to respond to local interests
and needs or developed to meet the needs of developing countries
worldwide.
Listed on the following pages are representative courses
and workshops which The Energy Group currently offers, has
offered in the past, and can readily offer in the future
if a sufficient demand exists. This list is not exclusive.
We will respond to any need identified and will develop
programs to meet specific training needs. Please contact
us for new courses or see How to Apply for courses being
offered under one of the USAID programs.
