Scholarships for Under-Represented Minority Students to Study Abroad Through Global E3

In seeking to increase the participation rate of under-represented minority students studying abroad, the Global Engineering Education Exchange (Global E3) program is offering scholarships in the amount of $1,000 to off-set the costs associated with study abroad, such as round-trip air-fare, intensive language courses, and settling in costs.

To qualify students must be U.S. citizens planning to study abroad at a Global E3 member institution for a minimum of one academic semester.  Students must complete and submit a survey on their study abroad experience at the conclusion of the study abroad period.  Students must also agree to participate in follow-up surveys on study abroad conducted by the Institute of International Education (IIE - the organization that administers the Global E3 program).

To apply, students must complete the information below and submit it with their Global E3 application documents (together with the transcript, recommendation, and other hard copy forms).

Students will be informed of selection for the award in writing, at the time their placement at an overseas Global E3 institution is confirmed.  Students will be required to sign a form agreeing to the terms of the award.  Once the form has been signed and received at IIE, a check for the full award sum will be issued.

Please direct all questions to your on-campus Global E3 advisor, or directly to Global E3 at: ge3@iie.org
