Barsa Scholarships Program

Funded by the Brazil-based De Sa InerAmerican Foundation, the Barsa Scholarships Program assists graduate and undergraduate students from designated Latin American countries in defraying the costs of U.S. training in certain priority fields. Graduate awardees are typically nominated from a pool of Fulbright scholars, and undergraduate awardees are normally IIE undergraduate scholarship winners from participating countries.

Awards are partial, supporting other monies for such items as cost of living or tuition and fees. Graduate awardees are renewable up to a total of two years; undergraduate awards are renewable up to a total of four years.

The Barsa program received its last round of nominations for new awards in the 2012-13 school year.  The program is currently winding down and will not be receiving nominations for subsequent award cycles.
