U.S. Students can propose study or research projects in China or Hong Kong SAR (China.)  Students must hold citizenship or permanent residency in the U.S.

The following types of Students in the arts, humanities and social sciences are eligible to apply for CUSP:

  • Undergraduates in their final year who will complete their degrees before the proposed grant start date
  • University graduates who have completed their undergraduate degrees within one year of the application deadline
  • Students currently in a master’s program
  • Recent graduates from a master’s program within one year of the application deadline
  • Students currently in a doctoral program
  • Proficiency in relevant language needed to study or research. This may vary by host institution.
