Cindy joined IIE in 2001 and has served in progressive management roles, centered on private-sector engagements that create scholarship funding opportunities and programs to develop leadership abilities and competencies to thrive in a global workplace. She has developed specific expertise in launching new initiatives and building, training and managing teams that are globally dispersed, leveraging IIE’s extensive network of partners and stakeholders to build connections between and across multiple sectors and industries. Most recently, she assembled teams to implement outreach and selection activities for exciting new initiatives by IIE’s clients, including New York University’s Abu Dhabi campus, and the Schwarzman Scholars program, a new one-year Master’s Degree at Tsinghua University in Beijing.  

Cindy’s professional experience includes developing and implementing program publicity and outreach campaigns; creating evaluation rubrics to carefully select program participants and scholarship recipients; handling participant monitoring while in-program; organizing enrichment events, such as leadership development seminars; and developing and cultivating alumni engagement. She is driven by work that builds capacity in individuals and teams, with a focus on effective collaboration, continuous learning and innovation. She has led organizational change efforts to enhance how teams work together and learn from each other, facilitating team members’ professional development. 

Cindy holds a Bachelor’s degree in East Asian Languages and Area Studies from Rutgers University. Cindy hails from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, where she developed her interest in international exchange through her work with the Edmonton chapter of AIESEC, the world’s largest, youth-run non-profit. She is on the Board of Trustees of the AIFS Foundation, a non-profit, independent, public charity that fosters international understanding and cooperation.
