Nomination Process

This opportunity is not currently issuing awards, please use IIE's program search or visit to find information on other funding opportunities supporting study abroad students.

IIE invites select organizations who work to empower underserved low-income & minority youth with leadership and global/cross cultural skills to nominate students for an IIE Passport Award. Each organization is invited to nominate 10 outstanding students for an IIE Passport Award for Study Abroad.

The selection criteria for recipients include:

  • Have junior or senior standing
  • Attend a high school in one of IIE's six cities (Houston, Denver, Chicago, San Francisco, Washington D.C. or New York City); (In select circumstances other cities may be considered)
  • Be a current or past participant in one of the organization's programs
  • Be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident

An Institute Representative will present the IIE Passport Award on behalf of the Institute at an organizational gathering, if possible.
