O. Temple Sloan, Jr. Founder’s Scholarship Program
The O. Temple Sloan Jr. Founder's Scholarship Program was established in honor of the Founder and Chairman of General Parts International, Inc. This scholarship program recognizes and rewards dependent children of Advance Auto Parts employees who have excelled in their academic performance and who desire to continue their education beyond high school.
All dependent children (biological, legally adopted, step-child, etc.) of a current full-time or part-time employee of Advance Auto Parts or an Advance Auto Parts subsidiary who is under the age of 25 as of December 31 in the award year are eligible for the award. Applicants must be high-school seniors planning to pursue full-time study at an accredited institution offering a two-year or four-year degree program (or equivalent outside the U.S.) or a student with at least one semester of studies remaining until graduation who is currently enrolled full-time in an accredited institution offering a two-year or four-year degree
Following a merit-based selection process, the following scholarships will be awarded to the top applicants. A percentage of all scholarships awarded will go to candidates that demonstrate financial need.
Renewable Scholarships of $5,000 will be awarded to:
- Top ranking students entering into or continuing in a 4-year degree program at the bachelor’s level (or equivalent) at an accredited institution
One-time Non-Renewable Scholarships of $2,500 will be awarded to:
- Top students entering into or continuing in a 4-year degree program at the bachelor’s level (or equivalent) at an accredited institution
