A Sarah IlchmanFor over 25 years, Sarah has worked on the Fulbright Program and currently is Senior Vice President, Fulbright Student and Scholar Programs, overseeing the strategy, management, relationships and budget of the full suite of Fulbright Programs. During her Fulbright career, she spent more than a decade focused on Fulbright programming with Africa, South and Central Asia and the Near East regions prior to moving on to overseeing Fulbright programs globally. She holds a Master’s degree in Management with a concentration in Non-Profit Management from the New School for Social Research. 

She received her BA from Vassar College, and has pursued studies at Wadham and Christ Church Colleges in Oxford, England. Elected a John C. Whitehead fellow of the Foreign Policy Association, Sarah was also awarded the IIE Distinguished Service Award in July 2010. She is recognized externally as an international education expert, has presented on panels at NAFSA, the African Studies Association, and the Foreign Service Institute and has led training workshops on all aspects of the Fulbright Program in numerous countries on five continents.
