What is the Brazil Scientific Mobility Program?

The Brazil Scientific Mobility Program (BSMP)* offers Brazilian students the opportunity to study abroad in the United States. BSMP is part of the Brazilian government's larger initiative to grant 100,000 Brazilian university students the opportunity to study abroad at the world's best colleges and universities.

Who sponsors BSMP?

The Brazil Scientific Mobility Program is sponsored by CAPES (Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior) and CNPq (Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico).

Who should apply?

Candidates must first be nominated by their Brazilian university and approved by CAPES and CNPq to participate in the Brazil Scientific Mobility Program.
