Established in 1919 with the founding premise that international exchange could make the world a more interconnected place, the Institute of International Education has championed international education and pioneered new models of collaboration across institutions of higher education with a worldwide reach. Today, IIE proudly supports flagship educational and cultural exchange programs on behalf of the U.S. Departments of State and Defense, in addition to government, corporate and foundation programs. IIE is proud to assist scholars, students and artists threatened by conflict and unrest in their home countries.

IIE Launches Special Emergency Student Fund Effort to Respond to Crises

IIE's Emergency Student Fund is expanding its efforts to support international students currently studying at colleges and universities in the United States who have been affected by recent crises. IIE has a long history of providing emergency assistance to students and the Emergency Student Fund was established to provide financial support to students who are at risk of dropping out of their studies due to natural disaster, armed conflict, or political strife in their home countries.

IIE Launches Inaugural Cohort of IIE Centennial Fellowship

IIE is proud to announce the members of the inaugural cohort of the IIE Centennial Fellowship: Sabrina Verleysen, Paige Balcom, Syed Ishtiaque Ahmed, and Krizia Lopez. The IIE Centennial Fellowship was established in 2019 to celebrate IIE’s centennial year and recognize IIE’s long relationship with the Fulbright Program. Each member of the inaugural cohort of IIE Centennial Fellows is an alumnus or alumna of the Fulbright Program.
