USIPP aims to build a foundation for expanding academic partnerships between U.S. and Indonesian institutions in order to increase the number of U.S. undergraduate students studying abroad in Indonesia.

The USIPP Consortium is a private, bilateral initiative founded by twelve higher education institutions in the U.S. and Indonesia, in conjunction with the Institute of International Education, that is committed to increasing all forms of mobility of people and scholarship between higher education institutions in the United States and Indonesia.
This Consortium is a direct result of the 2010 - 2012 U.S. - Indonesia Partnership Program for Study Abroad Capacity, an iniative sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and administered by IIE.
