Call for Scholarship Commitments

Building on the success of the IIE Syria Consortium in 2012, IIE is issuing a new call for universities to commit scholarships for Syrian students. Participating universities will be eligible for top-up grants and IIE will provide preliminary vetting of Syrian student applicants to help universities find the most appropriate candidates.

For Syrian Students

The 2014 scholarship application cycle is currently closed. Syrian students interested in scholarship opportunities for 2015 are asked to check back at a later date in order to complete the IIE Syria Consortium Student Survey. Once opened, this survey will determine students' eligibility to be connected with various resources offered by the members of the IIE Syria Consortium for Higher Education in Crisis.

We also encourage you to follow EducationUSA Syria on Facebook, as well as Jusoor and Global Platform for Syrian Students for scholarship updates.

For Syrian Scholars

IIE’s Scholar Rescue Fund (SRF) provides fellowships for established professors, researchers and public intellectuals whose lives or careers are threatened in their home countries. The fellowships support temporary academic positions at universities, colleges and research centers in safe locations anywhere in the world.

About Syria Scholarships

The crisis in Syria has created an academic emergency, with the break-down of higher education within the country and major obstacles facing Syrian students and scholars. In response, IIE is leading a consortium of more than 35 higher education institutions around the world that have committed support for Syrian students and scholars, primarily in the form of full and partial scholarships.
