IIE Generation Study Abroad Travel Grants are made possible by the generous support of private donors. Lead funding to launch the program has been provided by Santander Bank.

The IIE Generation Study Abroad Travel Grants program is intended to diversify study abroad and to encourage students to go abroad who would otherwise not participate in an international experience as part of their college education, especially in support of high-achieving, low-income students. The Travel Grants are to be used towards travel to and from the country of study and within the region, enabling students to make the most of their international experience. U.S. students from U.S. colleges and universities that are Generation Study Abroad Commitment Partners are eligible to apply who complete their annual progress report as an opportunity to encourage supplementary funds to their students. In this first year, IIE will offer 100 grants of $2,000 per student.

The student online application is now open for those participating in spring 2018 or summer 2018 study abroad programs, with a submission deadline of October 17, 2017. Please send questions to studyabroad@iie.org.
