Generation Google Scholarship: for women in computer science in Ireland

Overview

The Generation Google Scholarship: for women in computer science in Ireland was established to help aspiring computer scientists excel in technology and become leaders in the field. Selected students will receive a 5,000 EUR award for two consecutive years of their undergraduate studies. The Generation Google Scholarship: for women in computer science in Ireland will be awarded based on the strength of each candidate’s demonstrated leadership, and academic background. The program is open to qualified students who meet all the minimum qualifications.

Who can apply?

To be eligible to apply, applicants must:

  • Be currently enrolled as a first or second year undergraduate student at a university in Ireland for the 2024-2025 academic year
  • Intend to continue pursuing their Bachelors degree at a university in Ireland for at least the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 academic years
  • Be studying computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related technical field
  • Demonstrate leadership
  • Demonstrate a strong academic record

Application process

You will be asked to complete an online application which includes:

  • General background information (e.g. contact information and details about your current and intended universities)
  • Resume/CV
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Academic transcripts from your current institution
  • Responses to short answer essay questions

IMPORTANT: Before starting the application, please have the following ready for upload:

  • PDF copy of your resume
  • PDF copy of your current or most recent transcript (unofficial is acceptable)

Application deadline is Thursday, August 14, 2025 at 11:59 PM U.S. Pacific Time or when 80 eligible applications responses are received.

Recommendation letters are due by Monday, August 18, 2025 at 11:59 PM U.S. Pacific Time.

You are able to submit your application before your recommendation letters are received as long as the required information has been entered into the application.
