KAUST Fellowship Award
The KAUST Gifted Student Program (KGSP) is the undergraduate scholarship of Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), a graduate research institution committed to advancing technological innovation, economic development, and social prosperity through scientific discovery. The KGSP was founded in 2008 to advance the university’s goals of developing talented Saudi STEM students to address the most pressing national and global challenges while establishing relationships that bridge people and institutions. IIE is proud to partner with KAUST on implementation of the KGSP.
By providing world-class holistic support and pre-professional opportunities, the KGSP ensures the next generation of Saudi thought leaders, scientists and innovators have the skillsets to thrive in graduate programs at KAUST and accelerate the impact of the Kingdom’s research, development, and innovation activities. While pursuing undergraduate degrees at elite host universities in the United States such as Caltech, UC-Berkeley, and MIT, KGSP students are supported by KAUST as their home institution, with access to unparalleled research, specialized training, and mentorship opportunities that will accelerate their lasting impact on KAUST and Saudi Arabia in alignment with Vision 2030’s objectives.

With 656 alumni and an additional 319 students currently pursuing their undergraduate degrees abroad, the KGSP has nurtured a vibrant community of young leaders poised to drive research, innovation and development well into the future. KGSP alumni include Rhodes Scholars, Ibn Rushd post-doctoral fellows, KAUST faculty, and leaders in academic, entrepreneurial, industrial, and government entities across the Kingdom.
