The Medtronic Spark Scholarship program is designed to accommodate varying academic calendars across world regions. While students may begin their academic programs at different times, scholarship funding will begin no earlier than June 2026 and no later than May 2027. Funding does not need to align with the first semester of a student’s academic program and may support activities beginning in a later term, provided they fall within the eligible funding window.

Please note that the Medtronic Spark Scholarship does not provide retroactive funding. Expenses incurred prior to June 2026, including tuition, fees, or other academic costs, are not eligible for reimbursement.

Medtronic Spark Scholarship recipients who demonstrate financial need that poses a threat to their academic progress or enrollment status are eligible to receive emergency funds. IIE will evaluate the nature and severity of the emergency, the impact on the Scholars’ ability to continue their education, and the appropriateness of the requested support. Full details will be provided to scholarship recipients.
