The Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship Program (CADFP), funded by the Carnegie Corporation of New York and implemented by IIE, connects African-born scholars in the U.S. and Canada with universities across Africa for joint projects in research, teaching, and mentoring. Since 2016, the CADFP Conference Participation Grant has extended these partnerships by enabling Host and Diaspora Fellows to co-present at regional and international conferences. Drawing on data from 2016–2025, this report shows how modest grants can have a catalytic effect, expanding visibility, sustaining collaborations, and creating new opportunities for research and networking.
The CADFP is funded by a grant from Carnegie Corporation of New York (CCNY).
