Clinton Global Initiative 2013 Commitment to Action

The Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) convenes leaders to turn ideas into action. CGI Commitments to Action represent bold new ways that CGI members address global challenges—implemented through new methods of partnership and designed to maximize impact. Commitments can be small or large, global or local. No matter the size or scope, commitments help CGI members translate practical goals into meaningful and measurable results.

What is WeTechTM?

Women Enhancing Technology (WeTech) is a consortium of dedicated partners that has joined IIE to design and support a series of innovative activities to provide training, build networks and offer professional opportunities. WeTech helps women and girls enter and succeed in technology careers, with the goal of enhancing women’s talent and skills needed to fuel technological and economic growth.

What does WeTech Do?

WeTech works with a range of partners to build a healthy pipeline of girls and women in tech fields by linking them to opportunities that will inspire, engage and support them for entrance and success in high-paying tech careers. Program activities include:

  • Establishing a network of young women studying engineering and related fields in India and building a support system for them including mentoring, scholarships, internships and leadership development.
  • Launching the WeTech Seed Fund for Women + Girls in Computer Science in Africa that awards small grants to support access to training and information on computer science-related studies and jobs.

Who are WeTech's partners?

To achieve WeTech’s goal of greater impact through collaboration, IIE has brought together a powerful array of partners.
