Advancing knowledge in the field of conservation and sustainability through fellowships to outstanding academics and practitioners.
Active from 2004-2009, the Alcoa Foundation's signature Conservation and Sustainability Fellowship Program focused on advancing the knowledge and support for exemplary work in the field of conservation and sustainability through fellowships to outstanding academics and practitioners from non-governmental organizations (NGOs). By bringing together the academic, NGO and business communities, Alcoa Foundation’s program represented a new model of effective private philanthropic action to address urgent problems of global concern.
