What is IELSP?
The Indonesia English Language Study Program (IELSP) is a scholarship program that helps rising young Indonesian leaders simultaneously improve their English language proficiency while developing their critical thinking skills through an eight-week course at select universities in the United States. The program provides participants with an important opportunity to gain an enhanced understanding of American society and culture, as well as establish ties that will continue throughout their academic and professional careers.

Who is eligible?
IELSP is open to third-year and fourth-year undergraduate students from any university in Indonesia, from any field of study. Applicants must be 19 – 24 years of age, and must have a good English proficiency with a minimum TOEFL® score of 450 (either the International TOEFL® or the TOEFL® ITP). Applicants must possess a good academic record, and be willing to participate in an intensive course for eight weeks in the United States.

How do I apply?
Applicants can begin by completing the application form (407 KB, PDF) and visiting the IIEF website. The application form must be filled out completely and all indicated additional documentation must be included with the submission. Applicants are required to provide general contact information, as well as information about undergraduate coursework and at least one letter of reference from a faculty member as well as a copy of the TOEFL®ITP or International TOEFL® score.
