Held November 12 – 16, 2018, IEW is a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences. Wednesday, November 14, Higher Education in Emergencies DayIIE has a century-long legacy of protecting and advancing scholarship by providing urgent financial support and services to academics, students, and artists whose education and careers are interrupted or threatened by violence or natural disasters. 

We will unveil our video profile of Dr. Amal Alachkar, the 2018 IIE Global Changemakerand alumna of the IIE Scholar Rescue Fund and share highlights from the 
IIE Scholar Rescue Fund and the IIE Platform for Education in Emergencies Response, which will lead their own campaigns to show how they’re innovating strategies to support threatened students and scholars. Follow @ScholarRescue and @IIE PEER to learn more about the impact of their services.

 

Get a First Look at the New Show Crash Test WorldIIE’s New York office will host a TV series launch and reception event in collaboration with Project Explorer, the Qatar Foundation, and Participate. 

James King, Director of the Scholar Rescue Fund and Peter Kerrigan, Acting Director of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), will share their insight on the cultures and people represented in this episode, as well as international education opportunities. RSVP by Wednesday, November 7 to attend in person.
